PAST CONFERENCES 2009 Featuring Lt. Col. Dave Grossman | The 2009 CPPA Annual Conference was in Grand Junction. CPPA Co-hosted the training by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman with the Rocky Mountain Women in Law Enforcement. | | Lt. Col. Grossman is an internationally recognized scholar, author, scholar, soldier and speaker. He is one of the world's foremost experts on human aggression and the roots of violence and human crime. His "Bulletproof Mind" presentation drew quite a crowd. | |  | | | That night, John Suthers was the key-note speaker at the Awards and Dinner Banquet. Among many accomplishments, Mr. Suthers was appointed the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Corrections in 1999, nominated by President George W. Bush to be the United States Attorney for the District of Colorado in 2001, and appointed Attorney General of Colorado in 2005. He spoke about the role of government in law enforcement. | | 2008 | | | 
| | Featuring Dave Smith "Buck Savage" & his wife Betsy Smith | | September 19-20, 2008 was our annual CPPA Conference, at the Denver South Marriot. Featuring three sessions with: Dave Smith AKA “Buck Savage” (Instructor for “Street Survival”) Dave & Betsy combined for a practical, poignant & humorous session on "What Did You Just Say?!” that offers real life communication skills at the station, in the street, & at home. Betsy just launched her Reality TV Show on Biography called Female Forces.
Dave worked for the Tucson PD and Arizona State Police, developed his “Buck Savage” video training series & is a senior instructor of “Street Survival” seminars & a columnist for several law enforcement publications as is Betsy, a 27 year veteran of the Naperville, Ill. PD. | |
